Ein Kunstparcours am Gropius Bau

<p>Berlin is known for its numerous &ldquo;Spielpl&auml;tze&rdquo; for kids, but the project <em>Radical Playgrounds</em>, which is commissioned by Berliner Festspiele, is a place where play gets serious. Since 27 April 2024 it arrives at Gropius Hain for eleven weeks like an itinerant, temporary funfair: both melancholic and light-hearted, sad and joyful, funny and serious.</p>

<p>Taking place both online and offline, the Gropius Bau&rsquo;s first programme on artificial intelligence (AI) focuses on AI&rsquo;s utopian and poetic possibilities. From June 2023, the first part of the programme, <a href="${link:{uuid:{011b1681-384d-474e-9a61-d141e76ef7ba},repository:{website},path:{/bfs-de/gropius-bau/programm/2023/ausstellungen/kuenstliche-intelligenz/veranstaltungen/ethers-bloom}}}">Ether&rsquo;s Bloom</a>, kicked off a sequence of new projects including a Writer in Residence, artistic explorations, a podcast, lectures and conversations. The development of an app with a special focus on education and accessibility formed the programme&rsquo;s second part.</p>

<h3>The Programme Ether&rsquo;s Bloom</h3>

<p><em>Ether&rsquo;s Bloom</em>&nbsp;was inspired by Writer in Residence K Allado-McDowell. Current AI models tend to hallucinate and give answers rather than formulate questions, despite the centrality of questioning and speculation to creative work and discourse. <em>Ether&rsquo;s Bloom</em> focused on a programme of artistic investigation and speculation on artificial intelligence in close collaboration with artists, writers and scientists.&nbsp;In addition to a comprehensive programme of events, <em>Ether&#39;s Bloom</em> also produced a residency format and the podcast <em>Beyond and Within: AI Talks</em>.</p>

Its title translates to &ldquo;The Rite of Spring&rdquo;.&nbsp;For this evening, it is accompanied by the &ldquo;Sc&egrave;ne d&rsquo;Amour&rdquo; from &ldquo;Rom&eacute;o et Juliette&rdquo; by Hector Berlioz and her choreography &ldquo;L&rsquo;Apr&egrave;s-midi d&rsquo;un faune&rdquo; to the music of Claude Debussy.</p>

<p>On 26 January, the Theatertreffen&rsquo;s jury of critics announced their selection of 10 remarkable productions for the 2024 Theatertreffen at a press conference. Our congratulations go to the nominated production teams and all participants! The programme will be published on 5 April.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Radical Playgrounds&rdquo;, an art parcours at the Gropius Bau, is spending eleven weeks exploring the differences between the concepts of play as competition and free play. Visitors are invited to walk and climb on the various installations and sculptures, to activate them and to shape the project collectively.</p>

<p>Ren&eacute; Pollesch provided unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen in 2002 with the invitation to his &ldquo;Prater-Trilogie&rdquo; parts 1 to 3 and in 2012 with &quot;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia for unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen, for which we are deeply grateful. Ren&eacute; Pollesch died suddenly and unexpectedly on 26 February at the age of 61. The 3sat recording of &ldquo;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia&rdquo; is available in our media library until 27&nbsp;May 2024.</p>

<p>With <em>How Love Moves</em>, the Gropius Bau presents the first major institutional solo exhibition of Pallavi Paul. As an artist and film scholar, Paul engages the camera as her primary tool to interrogate how regimes of &ldquo;truth&rdquo; are produced and sustained in public life. Through her multimedia practice spanning film, installation, performance, drawing, photography and writing, she negotiates the documentary not only conjured as film or image &ndash; but as an ecology of materials, networks, global alliances and systems<span><span>.</span></span></p>
