demo station: Cempasúchitl Flower Workshop with Live Music

At the workshop, you can learn how to make cempasúchitl flowers with the support of Calacae.V.. The flowers are native to Mexico and their extraordinary colour represented the sun for the Mexica people. The workshop will be accompanied by live music and will take place at a demo station by Rirkrit Tiravanija. The stage-like sculpture invites people to “demonstrate” something. Tiravanija plays with the different meanings of the term “demonstration” as both a political protest and a presentation of someone’s talent or hobby. For the duration of the exhibition, the demo station provides a space for daily public performances.
