demo station: Distinct Memories – Second Ambient

The ambient and piano concert Distinct Memories is a project by Gösta Wellmer, electronic music instrument designer and musician, and Daria Goremykina, pianist and electronic musician. The listening experience invites you to enter an acoustic room and stay for a while, before the next door opens. The performance features sonic layers, remixed stems, drone synths and piano melodies.

The concert takes place on a demo station by Rirkrit Tiravanija. The stage-like sculpture invites people to “demonstrate” something. Tiravanija plays with the different meanings of the term “demonstration” as both a political protest and a presentation of someone’s talent or hobby. For the duration of the exhibition, the demo station provides a space for daily public performances.
