pieces of sky (2025)

The exclusive edition pieces of sky was created for the exhibition YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND at Gropius Bau. It draws on a central theme and recurring motif in Yoko Ono’s work: the sky. 

pieces of sky (18 × 22 cm) is closely connected to the artwork Helmets (Pieces of Sky) from 2001, which is featured in the exhibition. In this work, visitors are invited to take individual puzzle pieces from former war helmets – each fragment a part of a larger image of the sky. For Ono, this speaks to the idea that we are all part of each other.
