Ana Prvački will share her research for Apis Gropius, the digital bee swarm that resides in the Gropius Bau’s atrium, from analogue to digital, watercolour to Augmented Reality (AR).

About the project

Apis Gropius (2022) is an augmented reality experience by Ana Prvački. Inspired by the history of the building and the botanical motifs embedded in the Gropius Bau’s architecture, the artist presents a new species of bees, Apis Gropius, which takes visitors on an immersive tour through the atrium. The site-specific work is the result of Prvački’s profound engagement with the exhibition hall as the Gropius Bau’s first Digital Artist in Residence 2021/22.
