Figures appear and disappear as Western church music collides with blues-like melodic details: As part of the exhibition Ligia Lewis: I’M NOT HERE FORRRRR…, Wayward Chant (Prelude) performances take place in the Gropius Baus freely accessible atrium every Friday through Sunday. A chorus explores the intersections of sound and movement, continually creating fleeting choreographies.

Vocal incantation meets a visually stark space, haunted by feelings of alienation, collective uncertainty and the power of assembly. How, and under what conditions, can we truly see and recognise one another? Over the course of the exhibition, Wayward Chant unfolds iteratively and seemingly in passing.
