For the fourth event in our Spätschicht series, Gropius Bau and Outreach Berlin invite you to a free live programme at Gropius Bau.
After three open-air summer editions, our event series Spätschicht is moving into Gropius Bau’s historic atrium. For this edition, we’ve teamed up with Outreach Berlin, an organisation for mobile youth work, and are dedicating the evening entirely to football. Look forward to a spoken word reading, a screening, a football tournament and many live acts.
Programme
Spätschicht is a monthly series of free events with an interdisciplinary programme ranging from talks, book discussions and film screenings to concerts and DJ sets. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, experimental and always open to clashing – a space to discover new things and shift perspectives.
Outreach Berlin has been active in youth work for over 30 years, focusing on public spaces and the immediate surroundings of young people – such as their neighbourhoods and local areas. The organisation stands for a new and independent approach that takes into account the diverse needs and backgrounds of young people, and puts active participation at the heart of their work.
With the Street Football Club 030 and the Asphalt Liga by Outreach Reinickendorf, Outreach sets clear priorities for street football across Berlin. Both formats combine sport, education and community work, creating safe spaces on pitches and in neighbourhoods while promoting fair play, diversity and self-organised participation.
An awareness team is available during and after the event. You can contact the awareness team if you have experienced discrimination or harassment, need to deal with conflicts or emotions, or need someone to talk to. The team consists of trained anti-discrimination counsellors. You can recognise the awareness team by their purple lanyards.
During the event, photographs and video recordings may be made in which you may be recognisable. By attending, you consent to these recordings being used to communicate the event or exhibition.
