Take part in a collective exploration of the material of digital technologies and its artistic possibilities. Its different forms and the burning question of digital waste will be inspected closely in this workshop suited for everyone from five years onwards. You may bring along any broken devices!

Please register by the day before the workshop with your full name via vermittlung@gropiusbau.de. It is possible to participate either on just one or both workshop days.*

Have you ever dissected a computer, that is, opened it up and taken it apart? Have you ever looked at the wondrous particles that make up its hardware? Data itself leaves hardly any material traces, but the individual parts inside computers tell us a lot about the processes that go into making them.

The three-year-long project KidsCurate_Takeover enabled Berlin primary school students to experience and navigate the way from art production to an independently curated exhibition. In the family workshop for this exhibition, Takeover, Vanessa Farfán’s artwork can be explored together with the artist herself.
